The Resource Development Specialist serves as the principal fundraising manager for MHDC and will be responsible for the oversight, planning, and implementation of a comprehensive fundraising program that secures the significant financial resources from individuals, foundations, corporations, and others to support MHDC and its mission. The Resource Development Specialist focuses on long-range strategic priorities, seeking to raise multi-year commitments and communicates the agency’s vision to others.

Duties and Responsibilities

Specific:

  • Research and prepare grant proposals to support MHDC’s programs, goals, and objectives through state, federal, religious, charitable, civic, and professional organizations.
  • Motivate and coordinate staff members and volunteers, including MHDC’s Board of Directors, in the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors.
  • Entrepreneurial activities including identifying and evaluating available project, program, business, and funding opportunities.
  • Develop partnerships with counties and cities, public agencies, lenders, grantors, and private
    business to engage within MHDC’s programs.
  • Program design, development and operation including preparing and submitting grant applications and reports to all funders as required
  • Provide outreach via presentations, public relations, memberships and participation to the communities we serve to engender support for MHDC’smission and programs.
  • Develop and maintain MHDC’s prospect database and various sub-category lists.

General:

  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance for personal vehicle used for MHDC travel.

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of two (2) years of grant writing and development experience/nonprofit, and/or housing related experience.

The Equipment Operator operates a variety of contractor equipment and trucks utilized in construction, maintenance and repair activities, perform a variety site construction related tasks. Assist the site team with site development activities including earthwork, grading, driveways, landscaping, and other related tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

Specific:

  • Carry out the daily operations of the heavy equipment usage on MHDC commercial & residential projects.
  • Assist with organizing work crews and materials for MHDC site development activities for the effective use of manpower and materials.
  • Provide routine maintenance to all heavy equipment and provide maintenance reports to supervisor.
  • Maintain safe working conditions with regard to equipment use etc.

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for assisting with the upkeep of MHDC family of companies, site related activities, construction and other maintenance that may be needed. They must maintain an orderly shop facility and perform minor maintenance and upkeep on equipment and vehicles as necessary, and assist the site team with site development activities including earthwork, grading, driveways and other related tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

Specific:

  • Assist Site development team with project related activities
  • Provide maintenance to MHDC’s heavy equipment and minor mechanical needs.
  • Perform routine upkeep and maintenance on MHDC’s trucks and heavy equipment.
  • Operate heavy equipment (backhoe, skid steers, roller, excavator and dozer) at various jobsites.
  • Assist with mobilization of heavy equipment.
  • Perform site related development activities to advance the job as directed by the Project Superintendent.
  • Keep equipment and tools in good working order and assist with shop organization and upkeep.

General:

  • Position may require use of personal vehicle for MHDC travel; employee must maintain a valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance. MHDC will reimburse personal vehicle mileage with appropriate documentation, not to exceed federal government rates.
